Art Tables 1990-1998

Totally self taught, I was inspired by the beautiful neoclassic furniture made in the early 1800s, especially in New York City and Philadelphia that were handcrafted, hand- painted works of art. I started with traditional furniture making techniques and a lathe, then I gradually progressed to the casting of the legs and frame parts in polyester resin, along with 1” thick acrylic sheet for the table tops. This was done as an attempt to speed up production- but it didn't work out that way… For the furniture accents I used my original cast bronze reliefs and then gilded all accents with genuine gold leaf. All table tops were sprayed with gloss automotive finish then were hand- polished. The final result was a fusion of classic furniture design with a modern look and feel.

The four tables shown here are of similar size and dimensions. The table tops measure 22 x 36 inches, and the tables are 21.5 inches in height. Please note I no longer make furniture the last table was finished in 1998.
